Celebration Gala

About the Gala

The Aprons in Action Celebration Gala is the grand finale of Diabetes Canada’s national cooking challenge-an unforgettable evening of culinary excitement, celebration, and community impact. On Saturday, November 14, 2026, World Diabetes Day, guests will gather at The Carlu in Toronto for a night of inspiration and exceptional food.

Six national finalists  are flown to Toronto and hosted at a premium hotel, where they face their final high-energy mystery box challenge, cooking live alongside Ambassador Celebrity Chefs. An esteemed judging panel, including Chef Michael Bonacini, dietitians, and the top individual and corporate team fundraiser,  evaluates their dishes. More than 400 guests act as gala guest judges, sampling all six finalist creations and voting on their favourites across three recipe categories: appetizer, main, and dessert.

The Gala celebrates culinary talent, fosters community engagement, and raises critical funds for diabetes research, education, and advocacy across Canada, turning home-cooked recipes into a national impact. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception followed by a sit-down dinner featuring all six finalist dishes. Their votes will ultimately help crown the champion of the 2026 Aprons in Action presented by Manulife.
